The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 is likely to be held in India and Mumbai is not yet a confirmed venue. The talk among the franchises of the league on Friday (February 26) evening was that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has zeroed in on five venues for the tournament, scheduled to start around April 10.
Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Delhi have been tentatively identified as host cities and Mumbai has been kept as an option pending talks with the Government of Maharashtra. IPL Betting Tips The State Government's apprehensions to allow the IPL are presumably because of the second wave of the Coronavirus that has been felt across the country currently. "Mumbai is still not final and it is because the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government, headed by Uddhav Thackeray, has not yet given the final go-ahead," an IPL source in knowledge of the development has told Cricbuzz. Maharashtra has been the epicentre of the second wave of the pandemic, having recorded more than 8700 cases as of Thursday (February 25). Before the start of the second wave of the pandemic recently, the BCCI seriously explored the option of hosting the entire tournament in Mumbai itself. Cricbuzz understands that the matches could take place in a cluster-caravan format, where the teams will be split into two groups and play several matches at the same venues in two different cities before getting re-shuffled and moving to two other venues. There is a strong chance that Lucknow also could be in the mix as BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla has been lobbying hard for the IPL games in the Uttar Pradesh centre but it is not in the initial shortlist yet. Identifying Kolkata appears to be a curious decision given that the Election Commission of India on Friday (February 26) announced eight-phase polling in West Bengal -- on March 27, April 1, April 6, April 10, April 17, April 22, April 26 and April 29 - with counting on May 2. But a BCCI source said when the IPL could be pulled off without hitches during the 2019 General Election, the Assembly election should not be a big problem. Cricket Betting Tips Most likely, the BCCI will also allow crowds into the grounds, just as it has been doing for the on-going India-England series. Rohit Sharma played a sizzling captain’s knock in the second T20I as India fought back to square the three-match series 1-1. Playing in his 100th T20I match, Rohit blazed his way to 85 from 43 balls as India chased down 154 with ease, and won the Rajkot T20 by eight wickets. Rohit blasted six fours and as many sixes in his knock as Bangladesh bowlers were taken to task. Responding to the innings, former India batsman Virender Sehwag, to whom Rohit is often compared, went to the extent of saying that Rohit can do some things which perhaps even Indian skipper Virat Kohli can’t. "When Tendulkar played, he used to ask 'even you can do what I do'. But he wouldn't understand what he can do, others can't. Rohit Sharma is that of a player. What Rohit Sharma can do, maybe even Virat Kohli can't. cricket prediction In one over, hitting 3-4 sixes, scoring 80-90 runs off 45 balls -- have not seen Kohli do it many times," Sehwag was quoted as saying in a video that was posted on Cricbuzz's official Twitter handle. It was following the template of Sehwag’s success as a Test opener that Rohit was promoted to open the innings in the series against South Africa. And, the Mumbai Indians skipper responded in sensational fashion, with two hundred and a double hundred. Rohit tasted a rare failure in the first T20I at Delhi, as Bangladesh registered their maiden win in the format against India. However, with his team under pressure, Rohit delivered with a fantastic knock at Rajkot. Before Rohit’s splendid innings, spinners Yuzvendra Chahal (2/28) and Washington Sundar (1/25) put the brakes on Bangladesh’s innings as they were restricted to 153 for 6. This was after the opener Liton Das and Mohammad Naim got the team off to a brisk start, adding 60 for the opening wicket. In reply, Rohit featured in a 118-run opening stand with Shikhar Dhawan (31). After the openers fell, Shreyas Iyer (24 not out from 13) did the finishing job. The final and deciding T20I will be played at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur on Sunday. cricket tips --Renin Wilben Albert India will take a different approach, presumably a more attacking one, with the bat in case they are provided with a good batting surface, said Rohit Sharma ahead of the second T20I against Bangladesh in Rajkot. free cricket tips On a slow surface in Delhi where run-making wasn't easy, India struggled for momentum for a major part of the innings and posted 148 on the board and eventually lost the contest.
India's conservative approach with the bat at least at the start in T20 cricket has come under some criticism off late and Shikhar Dhawan's 42-ball 41 only ensured the calls for an aggressive approach grow louder. "We all love to play shots...but shot-making was not that easy," Rohit said on India's slow start in Delhi. "We have to assess and see what sort of score we want in the first six [overs] and then 7 to 15 and then the last 5 overs. We have to break it down like that. When you are playing on a pitch like that, you need to understand what will be the ideal score for you to defend. Of course that was the idea, and that's what the batsmen were trying to do. But if the pitch is good, you will see a different Team India approach tomorrow." Rohit brushed aside concerns regarding the pace department. Deepak Chahar and Khaleel Ahmed combined to give away 62 runs in seven overs and Shivam Dube conceded nine runs in the three deliveries he bowled right at the end. "Pressure is just on the team to perform, as simple as that, not a particular department," Rohit clarified. "You've lost as a team, you've not lost as a bowling unit. So the focus will be on the team. Collectively, all of us need to come together. match tips The batsmen need to get the job done, the bowlers need to come out and take those crucial wickets. That will be the idea." While India are leading the table in Tests and placed second only behind world champions England in ODIs, they languish at the fifth spot in the T20I rankings. With 12 months to go for the World Cup, India's form has been patchy in this format but Rohit isn't concerned considering the side has been experimenting with its combinations in the absence of some key names. "You need to understand that this is the format where we are trying a lot of players," Rohit pointed out. "The key players are not involved (in this series) so we are trying the younger players who are there in the lot, sitting on the fringe. Probably, that is one of the reasons to be honest, because in the other formats we have our entire squad playing the game." Citing his own career as an example, Rohit suggested that T20 is the go-to format to try out new players and get them ready for ODI and Test Cricket. Rohit first broke into India's T20 side 12 years ago winning the inaugural T20 World Cup before cementing his spot in the 50-over set-up few years later. "This is the format wherein these individuals can come out and express themselves, so that they are ready for ODI and Test cricket," Rohit said. "We have seen a lot of players who have emerged from this format who have gone on to play ODI and Test formats also. We want our bench strength to be as strong as possible. "We have to win, that is the first priority. But these guys will learn from it. That is how all of us, including myself and the other guys who started playing T20 format first and went on to play ODI and Test cricket. online betting tips I think that is how it happens and as I said we just want our bench strength to be very, very strong."Cricket Betting Tips Rohit himself has a milestone to look forward to in India's bid to square the series. The Indian opener will become just the second player to play 100 T20Is on Thursday. Currently going through a purple patch across all formats, the 32-year-old said the opportunity to represent the country keeps him going. "It does not matter which format you are playing," he observed. "At the end of the day it is all about going out there and doing your best. Formats will keep changing. "Right now I am playing T20, in a few weeks' time I will be playing Test cricket. What is important is that I am representing my country and I have to go out there and do my best. That is what keeps me going, knowing that I am one of 1.5 billion people who has the opportunity to represent the country. That is what will keep me going for the rest of my career." Bangladesh chief selector Minhajul Abedin has warned senior cricketers that their spots in the national team are not to be taken for granted. cricket betting tips The proclamation comes on the back of promising performances by the newcomers who've taken their opportunities well so far.
The arrival of Aminul Islam and Afif Hossain on the international scene as well as the introduction of opener Mohammad Naim is reflective of a strong bench developing. In the ongoing tour of India, Bangladesh have been hit hard by the absence of Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal, but the performances of the rest of the squad has impressed Minhajul. "Shakib could not play the final match in Ireland. Now we should not think about who's playing and who's not. Whoever plays he has to utilize the platform. No one waits for anyone. When someone gets an opportunity, he has to play good and get established," Minhajul said. "So what we have been trying to do for the last three months is, our High Performance and 'A' team have played a lot of matches, much like the national team. They [have] already learned about the experience of playing an international match playing there (with A team). Because of this, Biplob, Naim - they did not seem that they were far from the international arena. "The last three months of nursing them have done enough good. This is a great achievement like beating India on the Indian field," he added. Bangladesh, who have historically struggled in the T20 format, are now looking more optimistically towards the next T20 World Cup in Australia, with youngsters slated to be at the forefront of c aptain Mahmudullah's project. "See, we have to give opportunities to youngsters so that they can prove themselves. match prediction There are lots of youngsters who are coming in the pipeline and hopefully we can all get together and put a good show tomorrow," said Mahmudullah. "From the start we have talked about our approach which has to be top, if we lose or win, it doesn't matter, but our approach and attitude has to be correct and in the correct manner so that we can give ourselves a chance to win the game. The names that you have mentioned like Afif, Naim and Biplob are very good youngsters. cricket tips free They have proven their capability to do well in the side so they deserve their places and hopefully they will continue the same way they have started. "It's not a matter of being big or small. It's a proper opportunity for everyone. Like it is an opportunity for me to represent the national side. When we are in the dressing room or the field, it doesn't affect us [who is big or small]. There is a different kind of pressure and we are only concerned with that and things outside the field don't affect us," Mahmudullah concluded. Bangladesh skipper Mahmudullah said his team was excited at the prospect of clinching its maiden T20I series against India in Rajkot, cricket betting tips having overcome a "mental barrier" during their first-ever T20I win over their neighbours in Delhi.
"The mental barrier you speak of, we might [have] come out of that, even if a little bit. I think in T20 cricket, this sort of chance comes often and it depends on how we keep calm and execute our skills to try and win the game," Mahmudullah told reporters ahead of Thursday's second T20I. "Obviously, I think, it is a great-great opportunity, especially when you have already won the first game in the series, so it's a great opportunity and I think the boys are feeling energetic about it and hopefully we can put up a good show tomorrow," he said. Mahmudullah believes a series win at this sensitive juncture in Bangladesh cricket will be a soothing balm following the recent upheavals back home. Bangladesh cricket was engulfed in controversy over the last couple of weeks after several national team players called for an unprecedented strike only to be resolved after Bangladesh Cricket Board accepted most of their 11-point demand list. This was followed by an ICC suspension to Shakib Al Hasan for failing to report corrupt approaches. "If you concentrate on the recent (developments), whatever is going on in Bangladesh cricket, a series win will be a big boost for Bangladesh cricket and also a big boost for Bangladesh cricket team," Mahmudullah said. match prediction "We have to play good cricket to beat India because we know that they are a good side on their home side and across all over the world, so we have to be on our top from the first ball." The Bangladesh captain also added that a series win could even pave the way for full-fledged series against India in the future. "India are very strong in their home soil and they have proven it in the last 11-12 years how strong they are. It will be a big achievement if we can win," said Mahmudullah. "We have come to India for the first time to play a bi-lateral series so if we can win it then it will be a big achievement for us," he summed up. Legspinner Yuzvendra Chahal, on Tuesday (November 5), dismissed talk of the pressure being squarely on India after their first-ever T20 International loss against a depleted Bangladesh side in Delhi. cricket betting tips Ahead of the second game in Rajkot, Chahal instead appreciated the visitors for their spirited effort with both bat and ball.
After restricting India to 148, the visitors chased down the target with three balls to spare. "First of all we should appreciate Bangladesh," Chahal said two days ahead of the second encounter. "They played very well (at Delhi). We know we are (supposed to be) a better team but if you see last couple of matches, Bangladesh have put up a proper fight. Mushfiqur (Rahim) calculated the target very well. "There is no pressure. It is a bilateral three-match series and not a knockout competition. Obviously one team wins and the other loses. They played well that day." The fact that Bangladesh went on to win despite not having the services of opener Tamim Iqbal and all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan didn't surprise Chahal. "Bangladesh are a very decent team even in their absence," he noted. "All of them are experienced, even their new leg-spinner (Aminul Islam) bowled well. We are not seeing Bangladesh as a weak team just because Shakib and Tamim are not there. They are a good team and are giving us a good fight." India themselves have a few new faces in their side in the absence of regular skipper Virat Kohli, allrounder Hardik Pandya and pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Chahal is the most experienced bowler in the lineup at the moment but the 29-year-old believes that the IPL experience will come in handy for the rest of the attack while noting that there was no pressure from the team management for the players to perform every single game. "I think everyone has played about 30-40 IPL matches and they have good experience," he pointed out. "For me it is just that I have played more T20Is. Match Prediction I have only four overs in my quota; they still have 16 more and if the team bowls as a unit then we will win. "Whoever is in the 11 or 15 knows their role. It's not like there's someone who goes out after playing one game. Everyone's getting their chances and one or two matches go bad for everyone. There's no pressure from the management. They just tell us that we must not repeat our mistakes." Chahal also went on to brush aside suggestions that he might have increased his pace recently. Even though he picked up the wicket of Mohammad Naim, the visitors were content in playing him out. "Whenever I bowl, I look to vary the pace of the ball," Chahal said. "If you bowl at the same pace, it becomes easy for the batsman. "Especially it was that kind of wicket, the more you vary the pace, the more difficult it becomes difficult for the batsmen, because it's turning even when you bowl fast. Such wickets, you have to vary your length according to batsman. That apart, my strength is to vary the pace." Sourav Ganguly was announced as the sole BCCI president-elect nominee in Mumbai on Monday (October 14), which was the last date for filing nominations for the BCCI elections. The former India captain will officially take charge as the new BCCI president on October 23, the day of the BCCI elections.
Speaking after filing his nomination, Ganguly referred to the "emergency" situation in BCCI over the last three years, which saw intervention from the Supreme Court of India and the appointment of a Committee of Administrators to oversee administrative affairs. The former India captain stressed that "getting the house in order" is first on his priority. "I wasn't aware (of my name announcement) until 10:30pm yesterday. Even when I became captain in 2000, there were issues going around. It's always great to be looked at as someone who can do things in difficult situations," Ganguly said. "It's a very important time in Indian cricket administration, given what's happened in the last three years. There was an emergency situation, which the members have overcome. "This eight-man team, announced by Rajiv Shukla, will try and get BCCI back in order. To be in a position where I can make a difference along with the team would be extremely satisfying. Hopefully in the next few months, we can put everything in place and bring back normalcy in Indian cricket. "As a team, we have a lot of things to do. To get administration in order, get the house, the office in order. Cricket on the field has been brilliant. Team has played exceptionally well after the semifinal exit. Good cricket depends on the infrastructure and the backroom work, and it's our job at the back to make sure that everything is in the right frame and position so that the boys can excel. Talking about his other priorities as the new BCCI president, Ganguly mentioned an increased focus on first-class cricket and cricketers, which will start with a manifold increase in the remuneration for them. "For me, my biggest focus will be first-class cricket," Ganguly revealed. "I have been very vocal about looking after the first-class players, especially the time they invest. First-class cricket is the base, the strength. I have written so many times in the last few years that the remunerations need to increase, and increase manifold. So that's going to be priority to set the fc cricket in order. Look at cricket structure, look how governance happens and see smooth functioning happens with no issues." One of the other issues Ganguly touched upon was BCCI's weakened position in the ICC. "We have not received money that we deserve from the ICC in the last three-four years. We generate 70-75 percent in revenues. Free Cricket Betting Tips That's one of the agenda, surely," he said. Ganguly also said that the role of BCCI President wasn't something he actively pursued, but is instead taking up the job after he was recommended by the senior people in the BCCI set-up. "I never spoke to anyone, have never expressed that I was keen. 90% of representatives in BCCI at the moment in administration are new. In the current constitution, the way it is framed, a lot of people are tentative even to decide on positions in the BCCI. Because if it's not good enough, if it's not a position you can make a difference, they didn't want to take it. Because they will lose state associations positions." SOUTH AFRICA WOMEN TOUR OF INDIA 2019 NEWSWell Come To Cricket Betting Tips Free India Vs South Africa Woman Match Today News And Update Post On Site Best Cricket Update On This Website Thank You For Visiting Our Website India's spin quintet, that included the part-time off-spin of Jemimah Rodrigues, inflicted a narrow six-run loss on South Africa to sweep the three-match ODI series in Vadodara on Monday (October 14). Batting first, India could muster only 146 runs but the spinners combined to claim nine wickets and defend the lowly score for their first series whitewash in the format since the one against West Indies in 2016. Incidentally, the notorious trend of conceding the final game of the series started in South Africa in early 2018 and comes to a halt against the same opposition.
Unlike India though, it were the pace trioka of Marizanne Kapp, Shabnim Ismail and Ayabonga Khaka that did the bulk of damage to keep India to just 146. South Africa were also phenomenal in the field, in sharp contrast to how the earlier two games went for the visitors. Unfortunately, the batting couldn't match up. Ismail and Kapp struck in their very first overs, sending back Priya Punia for her maiden ODI duck and Rodrigues for just three, respectively. Punam Raut and Mithali Raj combined to offer some resistance but found scoring difficult. Khaka opened her account by sending back Raut for 15, while Raj became Kapp's second victim after having chipped in just 11 off 46. Harmanpreet Kaur then held one end up, but kept losing partners at the other end quite regularly. Shikha Pandey gave her company for a 49-run stand that bailed India out when they were reeling at 71 for 6 in the 30th over. The seventh-wicket partnership was the best of India's innings, before the vice-captain was bowled by Kapp in the 39th over. Pandey made the second best score of 35 off 40 deliveries, Match Prediction while Mansi Joshi's twin boundaries fetched India some bonus runs towards the end. Despite Pandey squeezing out two maidens, the Indian pacers were tad expensive at the start. Joshi drew first blood when she took out the hard-hitting Lizelle Lee for 13. India brought spin on as early as in the eighth over and Ekta Bisht struck rightaway, taking out Trisha Chetty for 7. Mignon du Preez found a way past Bisht, hitting her for a couple of boundaries in the 12th over, but Deepti Sharma then had her caught off her bowling to lend South Africa another blow. Rajeshwari Gayakwad, too, picked up a wicket in her first over to leave the visitors reeling at 54 for 4 after 14 overs. Skipper Sune Luus and Kapp put on some resistance, adding 40 runs for the sixth wicket stand to frustrate the Indian bowlers for more than 13 overs. However, once the duo departed - six overs apart - it was always going to be an uphill task for the relatively inexperienced tail to pull it off. South Africa needed 28 more after Kapp's dismissal off the first ball of the 37th over, but Ismail and Nondumiso Shangase only delayed the inevitable. When Ismail fell to Harmanpreet, South Africa's last wicket pair still had to get nine more runs in 21 deliveries. But with India's all three frontline spinners bowled out, Raj resorted to the part-time offpsin of Rodrgiues, who picked up her maiden ODI wicket by dismissing Tumi Sekhukhune to bowl out the visitors for 140 for a thrilling finish to the series. Brief scores: India 146 in 45.5 overs (Harmanpreet Kaur 38, Shikha Pandey 35; Marizanne Kapp 3-20, Shabnim Ismail 2-18) beat South Africa 140 in 48 overs (Marizanne Kapp 29, Sune Luss 24; Ekta Bisht 3-32, Rajeshwari Gayakwad 2-22) by 6 runs.
