Pakistan suffered a heavy defeat to England in the first ODI. Considering the fact that England had five debutants in its team and had to replace its entire squad hours before the match, the result would have disappointed Pakistan.
It is not uncommon for Asian teams to start a bit slow in England and don’t count out Pakistan just yet. It may have been caught a bit blindsided in the first match but it will come back strongly in this series.
England is proving just how deep its talent stocks run at the moment and every single player is going to be motivated to make the most of this opportunity. The weather forecast for the second match is not very good, however, we remain positive.

ENG VS PAK TEAM PREVIEWS
ENGLAND
Even the most ardent of England supporters would not have imagined the ease with which England won its first match. Saqib Mehmood set the tone with two wickets in the first over and then the other bowlers followed it up.
This same kind of early success is not going to be likely and we do not think the idea of opening with Lewis Gregory was great but England has no reason to change. What impressed us most was that Ben Stokes just needed to bowl one over in the entire match and that Matthew Parkinson managed to be so effective against Pakistan.
England’s bowling lineup is good without being great and we think Pakistan is certainly likely to come back with some better plans and put them under pressure in this match.
England knocked off its chase in just over 20 overs scoring at a run-rate of nearly 7. Zak Crawley and Dawid Malan never looked in any trouble against any of the Pakistani bowlers. Phil Salt might not have got runs but he is very dangerous and can be absolutely brutal when he gets going.
With James Vince, Ben Stokes, John Simpson, and Lewis Gregory also in the lineup, England has a lot of batting depth. We hope to see Will Jacks get a chance in the team during one of these matches but it would be unfair on players to be swapped out after just one or two matches.
England’s pace of play continues to be better than Pakistan and betting markets like Total boundaries, highest score after 15 overs, and others remain attractive.

PAKISTAN
We saw the worst of Pakistan in the first match but that should not cloud your mind. It was the first real poor performance from Pakistan in a long time and it should improve quickly. We don’t expect to see any changes in the team for the second match unless because of injury.
Imam ul Haq will get another chance to open the batting and make amends. His record is quite good overall and he could be a good candidate to look for an Over/Under Individual Runs bet.
Fakhar Zaman looked in good touch, Babar Azam is world-class, and Sohaib Maqsood showed glimpses of form too. There is enough here to indicate that a vastly improved batting performance from Pakistan is not out of the question.
The weakness for Pakistan remains too many players that play at a similar tempo. Imam ul Haq, Babar, and Mohammad Rizwan are all accumulators that are going to be consistent but not really run away with the game.
As a result, Pakistan is more likely to get scores around 260 rather than 320 and that is something that you have to aim for in England.
Shaheen Afridi got some movement with the new ball and asked tough questions but Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan, and Faheem Ashraf looked a bit pedestrian. More than the batting collapse, this lack of bowling incisiveness should be concerning.
Unless the conditions favor swing and seam, Pakistan’s current attack may not end up being as successful as everyone expects it to be. We would love to see Usman Qadir play in the team and think he can make a big difference but it seems unlikely at this time.

ENG VS PAK TOSS PREDICTION
The team that wins the toss is likely to want to field first. There is some rain around and we could have DLS calculations come into play and that generally favors the chasing 
PITCH AND CONDITIONS
The conditions are going to be a bit wet as the forecast is for rain on match day. The weather is expected to improve around the time that the match starts but interruptions are likely time and again. We do think we will get a result but some overs may be lost.
Lord’s general provides a flat batting wicket that is full of runs for its white-ball matches. The famous Lord’s slope can be used by the fast-bowlers to get some assistance but on the whole, there is not much for the bowlers here.

Cricket Betting Tips We think this match is going to be closer but we still think England has what it takes to be able to win against Pakistan and take a 2-0 lead in the series. Its batting is more powerful and while it is less experienced, we think it can score at a better tempo than Pakistan and put the visitors under pressure. 
This is our favorite bet for this match since it takes away a lot of individual variables but keeps in play the team characteristics. We can easily England outscoring Pakistan even if it loses a few early wickets or Pakistan gets off to a better start.


This is something that is quite easy to surpass with players being adept at power-hitting these days. The previous match did not get to the death overs at all but we expect the match at Lord’s to feature a better batting display. 17 runs or more can easily be scored to help you win this bet.
