Lancashire had a terrific run last year and came ever so close of making their first final appearance since 2015. However, they were defeated by Nottinghamshire in a rain-inflicted encounter and were left disappointed despite having a terrific run in the group stage.

With the likes of Liam Livingstone, Jos Buttler, Alex Davies, and Matt Parkinson, Lancashire boasts of some terrific white-ball names available at their disposal. If Jos Buttler is available, which is likely to be the case, Lancashire will have an opening pair that can tear down any bowling attack. Besides, they have roped in Finn Allen, who was terrific in New Zealand's domestic competition and was, therefore, also bagged by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2021 auction.

With a splendid top-order, arguably the best among all sides in the competition, Lancashire will be a hard team to keep from scoring. They have experience available right through and that is another factor that weighs in their favor. Besides, they have a solid bowling unit consisting of Saqib Mahmood, Matt Parkinson, and Richard Gleeson. If their bowlers can keep things tight, Lancashire will be a very difficult team to defeat.

LEICESTERSHIRE
Leicestershire are one of the most successful sides of the competition with three title wins to their name. They would want to start their campaign on a winning note to build quickly towards a fourth title win. They were slow to begin last year and although they qualified with significant ease, they would want to cover some ground as early as possible in the tournament.

Leicestershire Foxes had a rather inexperienced squad last year and that played a huge role in them not qualifying for the grand finale. They needed to defend 17 off 7, but some nervous moments cost them the match and, therefore, a shot at the trophy.

On paper, Leicestershire have a fairly good side that has done well over the years despite not having a star batsmen at their disposal.  World777 The likes of Aaron Lilley, Colin Ackermann, and Josh Inglis have been brilliant and the side would need those players to deliver yet again. Their spin pair of Parkinson and Ackermann has been terrific in the last few years as they have together picked up 61 wickets in total since 2018.

All in all, the Foxes have a decent side, but lack of depth is certainly a concern. They are a little too over-reliant on the likes of Lilley, Ackermann, Inglis, and Welch. They would need ample support from the youngsters and if they get that, the Foxes could prove to be the dark horses of the tournament this year.
