The Birmingham team is a decent one that has always managed to be competitive but we think they lack the finished look that Yorkshire has right now. Its batting is a big concern going into the opening match and we just can’t see the power or explosiveness needed to win consistently.

Sam Hain, Adam Hose, and Michael Burgess are the leading batsmen of the team. Will Rhodes and Adam Yates are decent batsmen too but none of these batsmen is a T20 gun. The team is going to struggle to set and chase down the really big scores that you see consistently in the T20 Blast.

However, the bowling lineup for Birmingham is very strong indeed. Olly Stone is not going to be available for this match and he is a big loss but Tim Bresnan, Match tips  Harry Brooks, Danny Briggs, and Carlos Brathwaite form quite an effective T20 lineup.

The form of Carlos Brathwaite with the bat is going to be quite interesting to watch. He has never been able to reach the heights that he promised after his famous T20 World Cup heroics but there is no doubt he has the ability to hit a long ball.

Birmingham is an average team that will win a few matches because of its bowling or if one of its batsmen has a great match. In most cases, though, its weaknesses are clear for everyone to see.
